Officials looking for information regarding recent string of Schenectady fires

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– Following the three recent fires involving vacant properties in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood, officials say they are looking for any information regarding unusual activity around any vacant building in the area.

The first two fires occurred overnight on April 23 on Third Avenue and Sixth Avenue. Both in vacant buildings, the fires broke out within minutes of each other.

One week later and just minutes away from the first fires, an early morning fire broke out in another vacant building on Davis Terrace. Officials say no one was injured in the fires.

The City of Schenectady Fire Task Force asks that anyone with information call the ATF TIPS line at 1-888-TIPS or 1-888-283-8477. All information will be treated confidentially and the callers will remain anonymous if requested.
