SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Gary McCarthy has formally declared his candidacy for re-election as Mayor.
Mayor McCarthy says the best is yet to come for the City of Schenectady. He announced his intention to seek reelection in the rotunda of Schenectady City Hall.
Following the press conference, Mayor McCarthy will join community members for lunch from approximately 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Blue Ribbon Diner.
Friends of Gary McCarthy will host a fundraising reception at Schenectady’s Historic Van Dyck Restaurant & Lounge from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening.
McCarthy was elected in 2011, beating former Union College President Roger Hull. Last week, Hull announced that he is running for Mayor once again, setting up a rematch in the upcoming election.
