BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A nail salon worker accused of inappropriately touching a female customer pleaded not guilty on Monday.
According to court documents, 48-year-old Qi Huang Wan gave a woman a massage at A&J Nail Art in Ballston Spa in April. Police said he used excessive force and caused deep bruising to the alleged victim’s arms and back.
In addition, the victim said Wan, or Sam as he’s called, touched her in a sexual manner in an inappropriate area.
“I don’t like to go through the press, really, but my client has maintained his innocence regarding one of the incidents here, so,” Wan’s attorney Andrew Bersin said.
Police said they discovered Wan is not licensed in New York State to perform massage services.
“All this will come through either testimony, or you know, through the court system,” Bersin said.
NEWS10 ABC saw Wan enter the nail salon on Monday and quickly walk out. Bersin said he doesn’t believe Wan still works at the salon.
Wan pleaded not guilty to Forcible Touching, Assault and Unauthorized Practice of Profession. He is due back in court in June.
Ballston Spa police said they are working with the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office to go over information as more alleged victims have come forward.
More charges could follow.
Anyone who believes they are a victim or have any information should contact police.
