CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) – An upstate New York company wants to become one of the state’s five medical marijuana growing facilities.
Butdorf said the area has an easy off access from the Northway and is in a central location that’s convenient for Capital Region patients. He said it could also help patients in the town’s new cancer treatment center slated to open May 4.
“There’s no doubt that Clifton Park is becoming a health care hub, if you will,” Clifton Park Town Supervisor Phil Barrett said. ‘We’re very proud of that. Those are services that are close to home.”
New York State approved five medical marijuana facilities for the state and 20 locations for patients to pick up prescriptions.
Butdorf said he will not locate North Country Roots to a place where they aren’t welcome, so they will be at the town’s meeting Monday. It’s open to the public and begins a 7 p.m.
North Country Roots will present plans and gather input from residents, and attendees will have the chance to ask questions.
