ALBANY, N.Y. –LGBT Equality and Justice Day is the largest statewide annual lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender day.
The Empire State Pride Agenda is hosting the event; state legislators as well as hundreds of people are expected to be in attendance.
According to the Pride Agenda the reason it holds this annual affair is because it is hoping to pass into state law bills the protection of rights, equality, and safety of LGBT New Yorkers.
The organization leaders feel Equality and Justice Day is a vital opportunity to give the LGBT community and supporters a chance to be heard.
The event consists of lobby visits with state senate and assembly members, educational workshops, and a big rally which will occur on Monday at 1 p.m. in West Capitol Park in Albany.
