SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) –Fire crews are currently on scene of a large fire that broke out on 6th Avenue in Schenectady.
According to Fire Chief Raymon Senecal, there are no injuries as a result of the fire, though the building is a complete loss. Flames engulfed the third floor of the structure.
According to Schenectady’s Mayor Gary McCarthy the building was a currently vacant, multiple unit dwelling.
Crews responded to another minutes prior to responding to the 6th Avenue fire.
The earlier of the fire occurred on 3rd Avenue, blocks away from the 6th Avenue fire.
The 3rd Avenue fire was also a vacant structure.
The cause of both fires is still under investigation.
