Spa City spotlights help for crime victims

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – With help from Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week kicked off today in the Spa City.

The 16th Annual Crime Victims’ Candlelight Vigil began at 4 p.m. at the Presbyterian-New England Congregational Church on Circular Street.

Candles were lit and victims of violence shared their stories.

The theme of this year’s event is “Engaging Communities. Empowering Victims” and the goal is to make sure all crime victims are given the information and tools to make informed decisions about their recovery.
