Amsterdam man arrested after three month investigation

ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The Rotterdam Police Department arrested an Amsterdam man after a three-month long investigation.

Gregory Lavallo, 25, is accused of entering the Cold Spring Food and Fuel convenience store on Hamburg Street around 7:45 p.m. on January 19. Police said he brandished a black handgun and demanded the clerk hand over all the cash from the drawer.

Lavallo fled the store in an unknown direction with the cash.

Lavallo was arrested on April 16 and charged with Robbery in the Second Degree, Petit Larceny and Menacing in the Second Degree. He was arraigned and remanded to the custody of the Schenectady County Sheriff in lieu of $20,000 bail.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
