Kinder-Morgan gas pipeline rejected by legislature

RENSSLEAER, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A plan to bring in a natural gas pipeline to Rensselaer County does not have the support of the legislature.

County lawmakers approved three resolutions Monday night that gave a thumbs down to the Kinder-Morgan pipeline, which would run through Schodack, Nassau and Stephentown.

Those voting for the rejection cite environmental concerns and that the county won’t have access to the gas in the pipes. They’re now asking Senator Schumer and Senator Gillibrand to take a stand on the project.
