Jay Street fire victims to remember lost pets at meeting in Scotia

SCOTIA, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A pet bereavement support group is meeting for the first time in Scotia.

The Animal Protective Service organized the meeting in response to the public grief over the loss of pets in the Jay Street fire last month.

Organizers say the need for such a group became apparent during a remembrance event two weeks ago. The group will meet at the Animal Protective Foundation building on Maple Avenue at 6 p.m. Wednesday, and the third Wednesday of each month.
