Commander of American Legion helps veterans with PTSD in the Capital Region

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The National Commander of the American Legion will be in the Capital Region today, with a message for veterans suffering from PTSD.

Commander Michael Helm toured the Watervliet Arsenal this afternoon. He then met with media at the Holiday Inn in Saratoga Springs. He ended the day by attending a legion banquet. NEWS10 ABC anchor Mark Baker served as the emcee.

The focus of his visit is a message of fight for veterans who suffer from PTSD. He says one of the legion’s top priorities is to get the VA. to offer more alternative therapies rather than heavy doses of drugs.
