LATHAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Good Friday starts off the Easter weekend, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus for Christians.
For many Catholics, They give up meat for the holiday, which means business was booming at Ted’s Fish fry in Latham as people headed there for lunch today.
The manager says she expected Good Friday would be their busiest day of the year, with tons of fresh cod being fried up and served to hungry customers.
“We’re hoping to go through about 500 pounds today. Hopefully the catholic traditions bring them back and the good food brings them here,” said owner, Sue Fisher.
Ted’s fish fry got its beginnings in Watervliet and has been serving up seafood dishes locally for over 60 years.
