WATERVLIET, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Some area veterans returned to boot camp this week to train themselves to transition back to civilian life.
It’s the Boots to Business class at the Watervliet Arsenal. The class helps veterans cultivate their entrepreneurial skills to start a business.
More than 24 vets are taking part in the week-long event offered at no cost to them.
“And we take them through the fundamentals of business ownership,” Senior Small Business Administration Manager Erica Choi said. “We take them through the nuts and bolts of a business plan, really.”
That includes learning about legalities, financing and the many resources available to the veterans to help them start their businesses.
