Workers call for minimum wage increase at the State Capitol

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Community groups from across the state are meeting at the State Capitol on Monday to deliver a petition to Governor Andrew Cuomo calling for a $15 minimum wage.

Hundreds of community members, labor leaders, and workers will march from the first floor of the Capitol to the governor’s office. Along the way, workers who currently earn the minimum wage will speak out about the petition.

Governor Cuomo has supported increasing minimum wage in the past. It is currently $8.75 an hour.
