TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -A meeting run by U.S. Attorney Richard Hartunian and several federal government agencies including the FBI, DEA, U.S Marshalls and Secret Service will be held Monday evening in Troy.
The Troy Police Department will be teaming up with the different agencies to meet with the Troy Neighborhood Action Council and the Troy Rehabilitation and Improvement Program.
The meeting is held out of concern of keeping the city safe, and the steps and measures groups need to take to make sure it remains that way.
U.S. Attorney Hartunian made the same presentation in Syracuse in October of 2014. The meeting mainly focused on efforts to reduce gun and gang violence, protect children from internet predators and respond to fraud schemes targeting the elderly; all cases Hartunian’s office has prosecuted over the past couple years.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Blitman Common Residence Hall.
