State of emergency in Schenectady ends

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy has ended the state of emergency that was issued last Monday.

The emergency began at 7:30 p.m. on Monday and ended March, 24, at 10:15 a.m.

In response to the demolition of the buildings involved in the fire on Jay Street, the initial state of emergency was scheduled to end March 21.

The state of emergency has been declared within the area of Jay Street between Franklin Street and Liberty Street, extending down Franklin Street to 427 Franklin St., and extending down Liberty Street to the intersection of Yates Street.

The emergency includes the parking lots behind all buildings on Jay Street between Franklin Street and Liberty Street.
