ALBANY, N.Y. – News10’s Mark Baker was honored today during a special ceremony at the American Legion Post 1610 in Albany today.

Baker stopped by the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center a while back to thank 98-year-old World War II veteran Justus “Jay” Belfield, dressed in his full uniform, for his service.

Baker posted a photo of the veteran as a final salute, and it was shared around the world.

He was handed a plaque and thanked for his support of veterans.

“All of you are my heroes,” Baker said. “My dad was a veteran and belonged to the American Legion. I know he’s very happy today.”
