ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – It’s about this time of year that we all dust off our PhD’s in bracket-ology!
“I’m ready to make a run in the tournament,” said UAlbany junior, Ray Jackson.
The Danes are dancing for the third straight year thanks to Peter Hooley’s heroics on Saturday.
UAlbany earned a 14th seed on selection Sunday and a date with third ranked Oklahoma on Friday. Head coach, Will Brown expects the Sooners will provide a tough test.
“I’m sure they’ll come out like the big boys do and try to press us early and often and throw a knockout punch early,” said Brown.
Since 1985, 14 seeds have taken down three’s 18 different times, and junior guard, Peter Hooley believes 19 isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
“You’ve just seen it happen so many times in the past, but even when we were 16 seed, we believed we would win, so were going to get the best game plan possible from coaches and were going to learn everything about Oklahoma that we need to be successful and these guys are going to be ready,” said Hooley.
