VALATIE, N.Y. — A Catskill man has been arrested for trying to take a rifle from a local gun store without paying — a weapon he’s not even legally allowed to own.

State Police say 29-year old Enricka Logan was seen leaving Shooter’s Sports in the Village of Valatie with a Ruger M77 rifle shoved down his pant leg. The store owner contacted 911 as a patron stopped Logan in the parking lot.

After investigating, troopers learned Logan is a two time convicted felon who is not allowed to own a fire arm.

Logan has been charged with felony grand larceny and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon, and sent to Columbia County jail without bail. He is scheduled to appear in the Columbia County Court on April 9, 2015.
