Shen, Guilderland to face off in finals

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) – On Tuesday night, Shenendehowa or Guilderland will be the first Suburban Council Boys AA champion in more than a decade.

The Dutchmen dropped the first meeting between the two teams earlier this season. The Plainsmen held Andrew Platek to just five points, his lowest total all year. But they’re not expecting to shut down the sharp shooter completely on Friday.

“If he wants to score five points again, we’re welcome for him to do that,” Shen head coach Tony Dzikas said. “But some of that was some of his own doing, you know. Every great player has an off night. The odds of him having two of us is probably very unlikely.”
