Stillwater man arrested for driving under the influence with child in car

STILLWATER, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say a man has been arrested after he was caught driving under the influence with a child in the car.

Police say 21-year-old Eric Morgan of Stillwater is being charged with Aggravated DWI, Leandra’s Law, DWAI Drugs, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Disorderly Conduct, Speeding, and Failure to keep right.

Police say on March 1, Morgan was arrested after he crashed his car on Hudson Ave. in the Village of Stillwater. Police say he hit a large landscaping flower bed belonging to a local business. Police also located a 1-year-old child inside the car.

The child and Morgan were not injured. Police say Morgan fought with police that were attempting to take him into custody. He was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

Police say Morgan was arraigned in Stillwater Town Court and later transported to Saratoga County Jail with bail. Saratoga County Child Protective Services were also notified.
