Albany lawmakers push for public transportation funding

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Officials are pushing for more funding for public transportation in New York State.

Area lawmakers along with officials from CTDA and local businesses at the CTDA headquarters are asking for an increase in state transit operating assistance.

They say the current budget plan does not have an increase for them, despite rising costs.

The group behind Thursday’s event says transit systems cannot continue to operate current services at the current funding levels.
