MAYFIELD, N.Y. (NEWS10)– A Mayfield man who pleaded guilty last month to producing child pornography has been ordered by a federal court to forfeit his laptop.
Richard Hastings pleaded guilty last month to federal charges against him for producing and possessing child porn. On Friday he was ordered by the court to forfeit the laptop used to produce sexually explicit photographs of a minor.
Officials say that in July of 2013 Hastings produced sexually explicit photographs of a 7-year-old child and posted them online. The photos were e-mailed to an undercover officer in an attempt to gain additional child pornography. His brother Robert Hastings is accused of producing a sexually explicit video of the child.
Hastings was sentenced to three years in state prison in December, however, the federal case is still ongoing. Hastings faces a minimum of 15 years in federal prison when he is sentenced in June. Robert Hastings is currently awaiting trial.
