Police arrest a Warrensburg man following a hit and run accident

WARRENSBURG, N.Y. (NEWS10)— The Warren County Sheriff’s office say they arrested a man on several felony charges following a hit and run accident.

Police say 28-year-old James O’Brien was seen backing his truck into a parked car in the parking lot of Ashes Bar on Hudson St. around 11:40 p.m. on Friday. They responded after receiving a call that O’Brien had fled the scene of the incident. A short time later O’Brien was located and found to be driving on a revoked license due to two prior DWI convictions. O’Brien was found to be intoxicated and was arrested at the scene.

Along with a felony DWI O’Brien was charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and fleeing the scene of a property damage motor vehicle accident. Police say O’Brien is currently being held pending arraignment.
