‘New York in Bloom’ taking place at New York State Museum

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – It’s close to impossible finding a flower growing outside during the ongoing cold weather, but they are blooming inside the New York State Museum!

Friday is the start of the 24th annual ‘New York in Bloom’ event at the museum, and floral arrangements are being designed and scattered throughout the building at certain displays.

“New York in Bloom’ starts at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning and runs through Sunday until 5 p.m.

The event costs $5 for adults, and the proceeds from the event will benefit children’s educational programs at the museum. There’s also a wide variety of displays to provide something for everyone.

“All of our demonstrators came in and looked at the exhibits and created floral displays that really combine perfectly with the museum exhibits to provide a really unique experience,” NYS Museum Dir. Of Education and Visitor Services Kathryn Weller said.

A flower market will also be open in the main lobby.
