AMSTERDAM, N.Y. — A jury has found the man accused in connection to a 2013 car crash in Amsterdam that killed two women and a child not guilty on manslaughter charges.
The crash happened in March 2013 on State Route 67 between Jones Road and Manny Corners Road.
Investigators say David Bain crossed the center line, slamming head on into the car being driven by Tanya Sleight.
Sleight, of Amsterdam, and 39-year-old Shyara Concepcion of Staten Island died at the scene.
Two children, Naomi Sleight and Elijah Sleight were airlifted to Albany Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. A third child, Matthew Sleight, was treated for minor injuries. Elijah later died as a result of his injuries.
More than a year after the crash, Bain was charged in connection to the crash. Although he was found not guilty on the manslaughter and homicide charges, Bain was found guilty on the charges of reckless driving, and failure to keep right.
