Two injured by falling snow at Cambridge, Mass. ice rink

CAMBRIDGE, M.A. (NEWS10)—Authorities say two people were buried in a massive amount of snow that fell off a Cambridge ice rink on Wednesday night.

Police say five adults were walking down the sidewalk next to the rink when the snow fell, trapping a 33-year-old man and a 20-year old woman under five feet of snow.

Angelo Ciardiello and his crew were removing snow around the corner when they heard of the emergency at the Simoni Skating Rink.

An employee of the ice rink says he helped dig out the individuals before the firefighters arrived. Ciardello says he’s never seen anything like this before.

Police say both individuals were hurt, but not seriously injured.
