ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men’s basketball team will be looking for its 14th straight win when they take on Stony Brook Tuesday night.
The Great Danes will also be welcoming back junior guard Peter Hooley for his first home game since returning to the team. The last time Hooley faced Stony Brook was in last year’s America East Championship game.
UAlbany won its second straight conference title last year against the Seawolves. Hooley was named the tournament MVP.
Hooley’s role Tuesday night is expected to be a little different with his minutes being monitored. He’ll likely come off the bench like he did at NJIT, but he and the team are expecting a big crowd and a ton of support as they look for the season sweep.
“I’m trying to ready myself for it,” Hooley said. “I’m assuming, we get great crowds anyway, but I know my last game here they were all tremendous for me when we did all that cancer awareness stuff. So I can only imagine it’ll be something similar to that. It’s gonna be emotional that’s for sure. I’m just glad I’ll have my dad and sister in the crowd to be with me for it. So it’ll be tough, but it’s gonna be real special and make sure we get the win.”
The game tips off at 7 p.m. at the SEFCU arena.
