ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – New York Senator, Chuck Schumer and Congressman, Paul Tonko will be traveling around the Capital Region Tuesday, each showing support for their own businesses of choice.
Senator Schumer will be stopping in Glens Falls. He will visit ‘Finch Paper’, one of Glens Falls’ largest employers, to help stop what he calls predatory foreign tactics from threatening the paper company’s future.
According to Schumer, paper imported from countries like China has flooded the market, costing paper companies in the United States millions of dollars. The Senator will call of the international trade commission to implement laws that would protect these types of companies.
Congressman Paul Tonko will also be in the area today. The Congressman is expected to stop at ‘Casa Visco’, a pizza and pasta sauce manufacturer in Schenectady. Tonko says ‘Casa Visco’ is an example of an American company that exports high quality products at prices that work in the foreign market.
