SCHENECTADY, NY (NEWS10) -The new Army Reserve Center in Schenectady opened its doors to leaders representing our area in the Nationals Capital.
Senator Kristen Gillibrand and Congressman Paul Tonko walked through the new Army Reserve Center Sunday. The two meet service members and learned about counter terrorism training that occurs at the facility.
“I think it’s a great state of the art facility to help train our reserve unit here in Schenectady,” said Senator Gillibrand.
The facility has a secured Internet Communication Center; it will also be receiving a weapons simulator which will be installed in September.
Congressman Tonko says he and Gillibrand fought hard in Washington for funding for the facility.
While visiting the Army Reserve Center Tonko and Gillibrand were able to see what funds were put towards and thank the troops for their service.
