INDIAN LAKE, N.Y. – Two men have been arrested in connection to an Indian Lake burglary.
On October 17, 2014, State Police responded to a burglary at a residence on Big Brook Road in Indian Lake. A pellet stove and piping were stolen from the unoccupied residence.
State Police used information gathered from witnesses of the burglary that led them to the home of 42-year-old Peter Lapell in Granville, who was in possession of the stove. Lapell then led police to his accomplice, 64-year-old Kenneth Palmer, also of Granville.
After interviewing the two suspects, State Police discovered Palmer and Lapell were also responsible for the theft of a lawn mower, an aluminum ladder, and various household items from a residence on Bennett Road in Indian Lake which occurred back in May 2014.
Palmer and Lapell were both charged with one count each of grand larceny and criminal trespass. Both men were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Indian Lake Court.
Palmer was previously sub-contracted by various banks to clean homes in foreclosure throughout Hamilton, Warren and Saratoga counties. Authorities believe the two men may have been involved in other similar crimes.
If anyone has information about either of the two suspects or believes they may be the victim of a similar crime they are asked to call State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations in Ray Brook at (518) 897-2000.
