Short chase conducted by Colonie Police leads to arrest

COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — According to Colonie Police, authorities were involved in a short pursuit Thursday morning.

Officials say at approximately 1:45 a.m. Thursday, Niskayuna Police notified the Colonie Police Department of a vehicle that fled a traffic stop Niskayuna authorities attempted to make.

The Colonie Police Department says they later spotted the vehicle on Loundon Road in Latham a little after 2 a.m.

Officials say relocating the vehicle resulted in a pursuit that lasted about three minutes.

The suspects stopped his vehicle at the crossings of Wade Road and Forts Ferry Road in Latham. The suspect then exited the vehicle and attempted to continue the chase on foot.

The chase came to an end when the suspect slipped and fell due to unfavorable weather conditions.

Police report that the suspect, Sean Harris, 26, was arrested and taken into custody.
