Two Albany Devils players make all-star team

ALBANY, N.Y. – Joe Whitney and Paul Thompson made the AHL Eastern Conference All-Star team.

Thompson was a late add to the team. The AHL announced the roster changes on Wednesday. Thompson will be taking the place of an all-star who won’t be able to make the event.

He and Whitney are tired at the top of the Devils’ lineup with 33 points each this season.

“It’s kind of like a little mid-season reward for what you’ve done so far,” Thompson said. “And like I said, it’s an honor, and I’m quite grateful that they’ve decided to add me. Obviously, there’s a long part of our season left, and we’ve got a lot of work to do.”

The Devils take on Bridgeport at the Prudential Center Wednesday night.
