ALBANY, N.Y. – Hours before Governor Andrew Cuomo delivered his 2015 State of the State address, nearly two dozen protestors were arrested at the Empire State Plaza.
The demonstrators linked arms outside the convention center entrance. Some chanted “Black lives matter” as a reference to the death of Eric Garner who died in a confrontation with New York City police.
Twenty-two individuals were arrested. They were part of an estimated crowd of 100.
New York State Police troopers charged the group with Disorderly Conduct and were issued appearance tickets in Albany City Court.
