Two locomotives derail at Selkirk Railyard

SELKIRK, N.Y. – Two locomotives derailed at the Selkirk Railyard Wednesday.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. Two locomotives derailed after they sideswiped each other while moving at low speed. No other cars derailed.

The collision caused a small fuel leak. The Department of Environmental Conservation was contacted. No injuries were reported.

Crews were sent to the railyard to rerail the locomotives. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The collision didn’t cause any impact on other rail operations.
