UAlbany defeats Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The University at Albany defeated Stony Brook Monday night.

The last time UAlbany was at Stony Brook, the Great Danes walked out America East Champions, and Peter Hooley was named the tournament champion.

But this year, the Seawolves have a new home court that they haven’t lost on, yet. While UAlbany is leading the conference standings, the Great Danes were still the underdogs heading into Monday night’s game.

“We’re playing big. This is how we play, and the league for the most part outside of Stony Brook is playing small,” UAlbany head coach Will Brown said. “So this is gonna be a street fight. I’m looking forward to it – win or lose – I’m looking forward to it. This is what we need right now. This is gonna be a measuring stick.”

The Great Danes beat Stony Brook 64-47 improving to 5-0 in conference play.

The UAlbany women’s team took on Stony Brook at home. The Lady Danes won the matchup 69-59.
