LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The Siena women’s record this season is at 10-5, and they are off to their best start in 12 years.
They’ve dressed just seven players for their last ten games, and they won a game this year while dressing just six players. On Sunday, they erased a 20-point second half deficit to defeat Canisius College by one point.
Despite that, head coach Ali Jaques is quick to remind everyone her team is still just 3-3 in MAAC play and are hitting their toughest stretch of the season starting Friday night against defending MAAC champions Iona.
“When you look at our schedule and see we have to play Iona on Friday and go to Marist on Sunday, you get another little wake up call,” Jaques said. “We got picked to finish tenth. We got to go play the team that won it last year, and the team that won the regular season last year, so we’ll see.”
Tip-off is at 7 p.m. at the ARC.
