Lansingburgh holds neighborhood meeting

LANSINGBURGH, N.Y. – Lansingburgh held its first neighborhood meeting of the New Year at the Boys and Girls Club on Tuesday.

The neighborhood has seen its share of crime over the past year, including stabbings, shootings and arsons.

Troy Police Chief John Tedesco was on hand to discuss topics ranging from code enforcement changes to the search for whoever is responsible for a string of fires. City Councilman Jim Gordon said he and police are urging people to be vigilant and report anything they see.

“Hopefully, we have seen the end of it,” Gordon said. “With time comes a solution.”

According to Gordon, police have interviewed a dozen people. He said he’s satisfied with the police response.
