Woman accused of DWI after allegedly fleeing from accident

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – State Police have arrested a woman for DWI following a hit and run accident.

On Thursday shortly before 4:30 p.m., Troopers responded to a hit and run motor vehicle accident on State Route 146 near State Route 146A in Clifton Park.

A motorist reported that his vehicle had been rear-ended while stopped in traffic. The vehicle that struck his, fled the scene. Witnesses were able to provide the responding Troopers with a description of the vehicle. 

Police say the vehicle and it’s operator, Suzanne Norton, 37, of Queensbury, were located in the area after Norton’s vehicle became disabled.

A breath test at the Clifton Park Barracks showed that Norton’s BAC was .17%, say police. She was charged with Felony DWI, Felony Operating a Motor Vehicle with Greater than .08% BAC, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, and traffic infractions. She was released after being arraigned in the Town of Clifton Park Court.

There were no injuries as a result of the accident.
