DURHAM, N.H. – The University at Albany men continued conference play Tuesday night at the University of New Hampshire.
UNH is a tough place to play because it barely draws any fans at all.
The Great Danes will seek their second straight win to open America East play, but to do so, they’ll have to overcome what head coach Will Brown called their Achilles heel up to this point – defending the three-point line.
He said his players just have to be smart.
“We’ve gotta understand who we’re guarding,” he said. “How much we can help, when to help. But it all comes down to ‘this is my man;’ ‘I’m doing whatever I can to keep him in front of me.’ The better job we do defending dribble penetration, the less rotations we have to worry about.”
Brown said if the Danes can defend the perimeter, UNH struggles to score at times, so his team will have the upper hand.
