NYSUT demonstrators protest Cuomo’s decision of teacher evaluations

ALBANY, N.Y.  – Representatives of the teacher’s union NYSUT and their supporters picketed the Governor’s decision to veto legislation that would delay teacher evaluations based on Common Core tests for two years.

Protester’s were outside of the Executive Mansion during Cuomo’s meet and greet on Wednesday.

The union says Cuomo reneged on something he originally proposed.

Cuomo told the union that he understands their position but is acting on what he thinks is best for students.

Another demonstration took place outside the Governor’s Mansion on Wednesday, which expressed support of Cuomo and his work on charter schools in the state.
