Albany man arrested for stealing iPhone on display in Apple store

LATHAM, N.Y. – State police say a man has been arrested after allegedly stealing an iPhone that was on display in the mall.

Police say on Christmas Eve they received a larceny complaint from the Apple Store in Crossgates Mall.

That is where they say 27-year-old Garrett Lacy of Albany stole a display model iPhone 5 from the store and in the process, damaged the security cord attached to the phone.

Lacy was arrested for Petit Larceny and Criminal Mischief. He was processed without incident and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Guilderland Court on a later date.
