ALBANY, N.Y. – The Half Moon is headed to the Netherlands, despite Mayor Kathy Sheehan’s effort to keep it in Albany.
The ship has been a part of the area for 25 years. It’s a replica of the one used by Dutch explorer Henry Hudson when he came to New York back in the 1600’s.
But the owners say they can’t afford to keep it here and a museum in the Netherlands has offered to give it a new home.
The museum says that deal was set in stone long before Mayor Sheehan expressed interest in keeping it.
