Former treasurer resigns from teaching position

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. — The former treasurer of the Guilderland Teachers Association, sentenced to jail for stealing from the union, has officially resigned her teaching position.

Brenda Mcclaine pleaded guilty back in September to grand larceny. She admitted to stealing more than $100,000 from the union.

The Guilderland School Board accepted her resignation earlier this month.

At the time of her guilty plea, Mcclaine had already paid back the money. She was sentenced to six months in jail.
