STILLWATER, N.Y. – The Stillwater Police Department arrested a Slingerlands woman after she allegedly laced cookies with poison and mailed them to a Stillwater resident.
Joanne Jones was arrested and charged with Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree following an incident that occurred in March, according to police.
An investigation determined the 72-year-old mailed a package containing cookies that were laced with mouse poison and a laxative to a Stillwater resident. The resident did not consume the cookies and immediately contacted the police, according to authorities.
Officials said Jones surrendered to police and was processed and released with an appearance ticket for Stillwater Town Court.
