Donations sought after local woman killed

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Schenectady Belmont Pop Warner is collecting donations to benefit two of its players.

Markia Booth was the mother of two pop warner players. She was killed over the weekend.

The organization wants to help the children “continue to Treasure the Holidays” by asking for donations of all kinds.

Booth was also the mother to two other children. The four boys are aged 12, eight, two, and eight months. Toys, baby essentials, diapers, wipes and clothing donations are being accepted.

Donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

  • Union Inkk; 1326 State Street, Schenectady; noon-10 p.m.
  • Pleasant Field; Mon-Fri, 5-6 p.m.
  • The Schenectady Barbershop; 1635 Van Vranken Ave., Schenectady; Mon-Fri 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Sat. 9a.m.-3p.m.

Checks and money orders may be mailed to Belmont Pop Warner at 183 Droms Rd. Schenectady, N.Y. 12302. All checks and money orders should be made payable to Schenectady Belmont Pop Warner.

The organization said 100 percent of all proceeds will go directly to the Harris/Canteen/Booth family.
