BENNINGTON, Vt. – Residents in Vermont were also hit hard by the latest winter storm.
People worked to clear more than 20 inches from their driveways and sidewalks.
The heavy snow and wind gusts knocked out power to more than 70,000 customers since the storm began on Tuesday.
“The wet heavy snow builds up on trees and tree branches. We’ve has lots of trees fall down onto the power lines, breaking poles, tearing down the lines. So what we need to do then is reset poles, restring new lines, and do this over and over and over again all across the state,” said Dorothy Schnure with Green Mountain Power.
Officials are warning customers they could still be without power for several days.
