GLENS FALLS, N.Y. – A boil water order has been issued in the city of Glens Falls.
The order was issued in response to a planned outage and repair. The affected area is Thornberry Drive from Bush to Haviland and to Towpath Lane and Edgewater Place.
The boil water order is to ensure that disease causing organisms do not exist in drinking water or water intended for culinary use. Bottled water may also be used as an alternative.
City officials said water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute and then cooled prior to use.
The public health notice will be lifted after two consecutive days of satisfactory bacteriological sample results are submitted and acknowledged by the New York State Department of Health Glens Falls District Office.
