NEW BALTIMORE, N.Y. – The Greene County Sheriff’s Office has released more information on an incident that happened on Thursday night.
Around 8:30 p.m., the Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at 306 Paradise Hill Road. The initial reports were for a subject with a gunshot wound.
Upon arrival at the scene however, authorities determined that no one involved in the incident had suffered from gunshot wounds. Police do say that one individual had lacerations to their hand and head as a result of a struggle with a knife.
An initial investigation into the incident revealed that the tenants of the property came home to find a man they were familiar with burglarizing the residence and a confrontation ensued. While this confrontation was occurring, a firearm was discharged into the front porch of the residence by another person on the property.
The person who received the lacerations from the knife was transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the New York State Police during this incident.
The identities of the individuals involved are not going to be released at this time.
