KINDERHOOK, N.Y. – State Police have arrested three people for burglary charges.

On Monday around 12:40 p.m., New York State Police charged Daniel Hammon, 28, of New Lebanon, Emily Borghi, 22, of East Nassau, and Danielle Phillips, 24, of Rensselaer with burglary in the second degree, a felony.

Troopers responded to a Columbia County 911 call reporting a burglary in progress. The victim reported that he returned to his home and located two subjects on his property. The subjects fled on foot after being confronted by the homeowner. After a brief chase, police say the homeowner recognized the subjects as Hammon and Phillips. The victim returned to his home and contacted 911.

Hammon and Phillips left the wooded area after being confronted by the victim and were picked up by Borghi, according to authorities.

Troopers found the suspect vehicle a short time later. All three suspects were taken into custody before leaving the area.

Investigation revealed that the trio unlawfully entered the victim’s garage and stole a hand tool. They attempted to enter the main living space of the home and were unsuccessful.

All three defendants were arraigned in the Town of Greenport Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.
